Speaking shortly after being confirmed by the Police Council at the Presidential Villa on Tuesday, he expressed happiness over the development and promised to work towards meeting the expectations of Nigerians.

On the criticism trailing his withdrawal of police details attached to the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Alhaji Aminu Tambuwal, Abba declined comment saying, “well, that is a matter before the court and is prejudice for me to comment on it. I wouldn’t want to have any problem with the judiciary”.
