Bandits have kidnapped a 16-year-old boy and six teenage girls during a late-night attack on Gidan-Bijimi in Bwari Area Council of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).
The armed men, wielding AK-47 rifles, reportedly invaded two homes at about 9:47 p.m., causing panic as residents fled for safety. Local vigilantes attempted to confront the attackers but were overwhelmed by the criminals’ superior firepower.
Authorities confirmed that the FCT Police Command has been alerted and that search-and-rescue operations are already underway.
The incident adds to the growing wave of mass abductions across northern Nigeria, a development that recently prompted President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to declare a nationwide security emergency.
