Christian Eriksen collapsed during Denmark’s friendly against Ukraine but is now conscious, says the Danish Football Association.
The 34-year-old was making his 151st international appearance when the game was stopped on 79 minutes, before being abandoned.
The former Manchester United and Tottenham midfielder suffered a cardiac arrest during a Euro 2020 match against Finland in 2021.
He was then fitted with an Implantable Cardioverter Defibrillator (ICD), which has allowed him to continue his career.
The game between Denmark and Sweden has been called off as Eriksen felt bad and collapsed on the pitch with all players scared and gathering together in a circle to protect Christian.
Eriksen is conscious and “he’s doing well under the current circumstances”, Danish Federation confirmed.
