The Senate on Thursday confirmed Muttaqha Rabe Darma as a Minister of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, following his screening before lawmakers.
The confirmation came after a question-and-answer session during plenary, where the nominee was assessed by members of the upper chamber.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu had earlier transmitted Darma’s name to the Senate, requesting his screening and confirmation.
The letter was read on the floor by Senate President Godswill Akpabio, who subsequently referred the nomination to the Committee of the Whole for consideration.
The committee later reported back to the Senate, leading to Darma’s confirmation.
Further details are expected.
