JUSUN NJI chapter inaugurated

The Judiciary Staff Union of Nigeria(JUSUN), the National Judicial Institute Chapter, was yesterday inaugurated by the National body.
The NJI chapter of the association lamented that since JUSUN, was formally registered as judicially organization, in 2007, the institute has been left out.
However, the struggle for the birth of the NJI chapter of the association which started slowly but surely since 2018, has been achieved.
In his inaugural speech, the brand new Chairman, Caretaker Committee of NJI Staff Union, Comr, Kasim Abubakar Gambo, posited that the association under his watch will ensure the union will be a platform to communicate to the management of the institute on the pressing issues.
The chapter stressed that the move was to come together as the staff of the NJI, to fight for the interest of the staff condition of service and their welfare as well as project the image of the institute.
Further in his speech, he assured the institute of their maximum cooperation to curb insubordination, indiscipline, adding that the management of the institute should encourage to imbibe reward system for excellence service.
Moreover, Gambo informed that the their operational code shall be through dialogue, negotiations and collective bargaining.
He revealed that the National body will be delivering about 50 houses to the already established branches which NJI will be left out.
He promised that by the time the committee comes on board, they will ensure that NJI chapter partakes in the next package
‘’The union under my watch shall be democratic in all our approach to issues that bothers on the staff condition of service and welfare. We shall not engage in confrontations with the management of the institute but through collective bargaining.
‘’we shall not support indiscipline of any manner, we shall not support insubordination, lateness to work, but we shall reward hard working staff, ensures the management of the institute imbibe in continue training and retaining of the staff for optimal performance, he concluded.
The National President, JUSUN, Comrade Marwan Mustapha Adamu, represented by the General Secretary, Comrade I. M Adetola, harped on corporation with the management to achieve the purpose of the association.
He informed the newly inaugurated committee that the era of banging table has gone, adding that with dialogue, they will get result.
The National Sec, who advised them to be cooperative among themselves, watch each others back, also informed them to address themselves to the Labour Act, Trade Act and others as they continue to learn more.
Concluding, he reminded them that the mandate which they embarked on is a just course with the view to fight for workers.
He, therefore, asked the committee to make bold to approach the National body whenever they encounter any gray area in the line of their duty, assuring them of protection and proper advice.
