A group of scientists from the African Climate Reporters (ACR), along with civil society organizations, non-governmental organizations, and other environmental stakeholders, have congratulated the Kaduna State Government for securing 3rd place in the 2025 Nigeria Climate Governance Ranking.
In a statement issued to the media on behalf of the scientists, Comrade Ibrahima Yakubu, Head of Communication and Strategies at ACR, expressed his excitement about this achievement and commended Governor Uba Sani for his steadfast commitment to promoting climate awareness and addressing environmental challenges throughout the state.
“This milestone reflects the strong dedication of His Excellency, Senator Uba Sani, and the tireless efforts of the Honorable Honorable for Environment and Natural Resources, Hon. Abubakar Buba, in implementing impactful climate policies and advancing sustainable development in Kaduna State,” the statement read.
Yakubu described this achievement as a historic success for Kaduna, noting that the state was ranked 16th last year. Thanks to visionary leadership and collaboration, it has now risen to 3rd place, following Lagos (1st) and Katsina (2nd). He expressed hope that, with continued efforts and divine guidance, Kaduna could soon claim the top spot in the country.
The statement also praised the Pace Project Kaduna for its ongoing work in raising public awareness, organizing training, and building the capacity of civil society organizations, government agencies, and community leaders regarding climate action and environmental protection.
