The Kaduna State Government has said Governor Senator Uba Sani’s administration has recorded significant progress in rural development, citing major investments in roads, agriculture, healthcare, education and economic empowerment within its first three years in office.

The government disclosed this in a statement on the 2026 International Day of Rural Development issued by the Governor’s Special Adviser on Rural Development, Shehu Aminu Abdullahi.

Abdullahi said the administration had prioritised the construction, rehabilitation and expansion of urban and rural road networks, opening up previously neglected communities.

According to him, the road projects have improved access to farms, markets, schools and healthcare facilities while reducing rural isolation and stimulating economic activities across the state.

He also said the government had expanded rural electrification through conventional and renewable energy projects to provide reliable power to underserved communities.

“The expansion of rural electrification has enhanced business activities, improved educational outcomes, and strengthened healthcare services in many communities,” he said.

On healthcare, Abdullahi stated that the government had upgraded health facilities, recruited more healthcare workers and expanded access to essential medical services, particularly in rural and underserved communities.

He added that the interventions had improved healthcare delivery and reduced hardship for women and children.

The Special Adviser described agriculture as the backbone of Kaduna’s rural economy, noting that the government had supported farmers with agricultural inputs, free fertiliser, mechanisation programmes and market development initiatives.

He said the interventions had increased agricultural productivity, improved rural incomes and strengthened food security across the state.

Abdullahi further said the administration had invested heavily in educational infrastructure, teacher recruitment and learning materials to improve access to quality education in rural communities.

He noted that the government had also implemented youth and women empowerment programmes focused on skills acquisition, entrepreneurship, financial inclusion and social intervention.

While acknowledging that more work remained, Abdullahi said the administration remained committed to achieving comprehensive rural transformation.

He commended Governor Uba Sani for what he described as his commitment to improving the welfare of rural dwellers through sustained investment in critical sectors.
