Kaduna NSE inaugurates new exco

The new executive committee that will steer the affairs of the Kaduna State Branch of Nigerian Society of Engineers, (NSE), has been inaugurated .
The Exco has as its new chairman, the former Vice Chairman, Engineer Nasiru Dallatu Umar, with Engrs. Rachel Ugye-Ama, vice chairman; Aghwotu Akpore, General Secretary; Patrick Nwosibe, Asst. General Secretary; Ibrahim Bello, Technical Secretary; Abdulwahab Hafis, Publicity Secretary; Christy Abraham, Financial Secretary; S. Yakubu, Ex-Officio and Engr. Abdulrasheed Babalola as the Immediate Past chairman, (IPC).
Speaking in his inaugural speech over the weekend, the new Chairman, Engr. Umar said the Exco emerged after a frantic contest which involved elders of branch to summon all contestants to a meeting due to impending rancour the contest was about to cause.
He added that in view of the above, he has decided to carry every member along in his activities to give a sense of belonging.
Engr. Umar promised to form an inclusive structure where every individual member’s opinion, idea, and criticism would be harnessed to form a formidable Society where each and every member would be proud participant.
In his remarks, the outgoing chairman, Engr. Babalola, said NSE has one of the most vibrant branch in Kaduna, hence there is am hurricane task before the new exco to sustain it.
He appreciated the support of every members of the branch, but said there were lots to be done and therefore called on them to brace up to their responsibilities, because there are lots of uncomplicated projects which the new Exco must complete.
Also, the President of the Society, Engr. Adekunlr Mokuolu, said the engineering profession is taking a new dimension especially in rural infrastructure.
Engr. Mokuolu who was represented by the Vice President, Engr. Joseph Akinteye, commended the state Branch for sustaining the rural electrification project particularly in Juji community of Sabon Tasha in Chikun Local Government Area, which has brought development and economic turnaround to the community.
