The Kaduna State Woman Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Godiya Lolo, has resigned from both her position and membership of the party, sparking fresh speculation of a possible political defection.
Lolo conveyed her decision in a resignation letter dated April 13 and addressed to the PDP chairman of Dura/Bitaro Ward in Jaba Local Government Area of Kaduna State.
In the letter, she expressed gratitude to the party for the opportunity to serve, noting that her time as State Woman Leader had been a valuable experience.
“I have formally resigned my membership and position within the PDP. I am thankful for the experience and the opportunity to serve as State Woman Leader,” she stated.
Although she did not disclose her next political move, sources within the state have linked her to a political structure in Kaduna South reportedly aligned with the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The development has intensified speculation about a possible switch of allegiance, though no official confirmation has been made.
Political observers say the move may be part of broader realignments ahead of the 2027 general elections in the state. The PDP is yet to release an official statement on the resignation.
