The Chairman of Kagarko local Government Area Mr. Nasara Rabo has said workers of the council have started to receive their September salaries under the new minimum wage package making it the first LGA to do so.
He disclosed this to newsmen while speaking to the media in Kaduna Yesterday.
Mr. Rabo explained that the implementation of the new minimum wage at the local level became necessary in view of the urgent need to consolidate on socioeconomic and political development of the state government.
He added that the payment of the new minimum wage is to commence next Monday for the month of September.
According to him Kagarko local council would be the first third tier of government to implement the new minimum wage in Kaduna state.
Mr. Rabo father said that the new salary package has been worked out in accordance with the template used by the state government, stressing that the measure is to ensure uniformity and guarantee excellence.
