Kano Assembly constitutes committee to screen deputy governor
Kano State House of Assembly on Wednesday constituted a committee to screen the nominee for deputy governor forwarded to it by Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf.
The details of the nominee, Murtala Sule Garo, were forwarded to the Assembly on Tuesday.
The Speaker of the House, Hon Jibrin Ismaila Falgore, announced at plenary that the committee is chaired by the Deputy Speaker, with the Majority Leader, Chief Whip, Deputy Majority Leader, Majority Whip, and members representing Fagge, Sumaila, Warawa, Dawakin Kudu and Tudun Wada constituencies, as members, among others.
The committee is expected to invite the nominee for screening and report back to the House on Monday.
Garo, 48, was a former commissioner during the administration of Governor Umar Ganduje, and had served as Kabo local government chairman among other positions.
