The Supreme court, Wednesday, reserved it’s decision in the two appeal filed by the Kabiru Turaki-led faction of the People Democratic Party(PDP).
The appallant is before the Apex court praying it to set aside the judgement of the Court of Appeal which voided the national convention held in Ibadan, Oyo state in November, 2025.
The five-man panel of the Apex court led by Justice Mohammed Garba, after parties adopted their briefs of arguments, held that the date of judgement would be communicated to parties in the matter.
The first appeal with number SC/CV/164/2026, was filed by the PDP against the court of appeal’s judgement that upheld the Justice Peter Lifu of the lower court.
In the judgement, Justice Lifu barred the PDP from proceeding with it’s national convention without Sule Lamido, the ex-governor of Jigawa State.
The second appeal marked SC/CV/166/2026, was filed by the PDP, it’s National Working Committee (NWC) and the National Executive Committee(NEC) against the decision of the Court of Appeal, Abuja
They were contesting against the judgement of the appellate court that affirmed the earlier decision of the federal high court, Abuja restraining the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) from monitoring the convention in Ibadan.
