The National Executive Committee of a newly established association, tagged, Association of Ethnic Youths Nationalities In Nigeria, is expected to pay a courtesy visit to its sister association, Northern Youth Assembly (NYA) in Kano.
The association was established for the promotion of inter-Ethnic Nationalities, Co–operation and understanding, for the enhancement of peaceful social co-existence in the Country.
According to a statement issued and signed by the NYA president,Ambassador Ibrahim Waiya, yesterday in Kano, the visit is part of the 1st National Ethnic Youth Nationalities Peace Conference in Nigeria, which is expected to be attended by the representatives of the Nigerian Ethnic Youths Nationalities across the thirty six states of the Federation.
“Ahead of the proposed 1st National Ethnic Youth Nationalities Conference in Abuja. The series of the visits is planned to start with the North West, representing the seven states of Kano, Jigawa, Kaduna, Zamfara, Kebbi, Sokoto and Katsina states respectively.” The statement said.
Meanwhile, the NYA has setup a 13- Member Committee for the visit, which is saddled with the responsibility to work out modalities and come up with recommendations on the Visit Reception Programmes.
Hence, the statement said, “The committee is mandated to contact individuals and Organizations for possible assistance and support to ensure the successful hosting of the visiting Team. It is also mandated to identify some respected personalities in some states of the North West, such as traditional and political Leaders, for courtesy call on them, as well as arranging and organizing discussion sessions for inputs with different ethnic Nationalities from the Zone.”
