From Mustapha Adamu Kano

Governor Abba Yusuf of Kano State says Kano is emerging as the commercial capital of the Sahel region due to key reforms and investments.
This is contained in a statement issued by his Press Secretary, Mustapha Muhammad in Kano on Thursday.
Speaking at the launch of two books in Abuja, Yusuf, represented by his Special Adviser on State Affairs, Alhaji Usman Bala, said the state was leveraging its commercial heritage while embracing the future.
Governor Yusuf said his administration had undertaken initiatives to attract investment and improve the business climate, including security improvements, infrastructure development, and power supply enhancement.
He added that efforts to digitise revenue systems and block leakages had been made.
The governor underscored the role of traditional and religious leaders in maintaining peace and the government’s focus on supporting small businesses and promoting transparency.
Yusuf said these steps had greatly boosted local and international investors’ confidence.
He purchased 200 copies of two books for N20 million to promote knowledge and leadership development in the state.
