Kano Gov Yusuf retains Garo as running mate for 2027 gov’ship election

Kano State Governor, Alhaji Abba Kabir Yusuf, has endorsed his deputy, Murtala Sule Galadima Garo, as his running mate for the 2027 governorship election, reaffirming his confidence in the deputy governor’s leadership and performance.
The announcement was made on Monday during a meeting with federal political appointees serving under President Bola Tinubu at the Kano Governor’s Lodge in Abuja.
According to a statement issued by the governor’s spokesperson, Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, the decision followed Garo’s loyalty, commitment and contributions to the administration since assuming office.
Governor Yusuf described Garo as a dependable deputy who has justified the confidence reposed in him.
“I have no regrets for choosing Garo as my Deputy in the last few months, and he has proven to be the right choice so far. I want to confirm to you that I have every confidence in him,” the governor said.
He also passed a vote of confidence in the deputy governor, commending his competence, dedication and commitment to implementing the administration’s policies and programmes.
The governor urged party leaders, political appointees and supporters to remain united as the administration continues its development agenda while preparing for the 2027 governorship election.
