The Kano State Government said it has concluded arrangement to design and adopt Jigawa state pension scheme for a faster and better pension distribution in the state.
The permanent member, Kano state pension funds trustees Alhaji Maifada Bello Kibiya dropped the hint during an experience learning visit to Jigawa state and local government contributory pension board yesterday in Dutse.
He explained that, the team is in Jigawa to learn from Jigawa pension scheme to address some problems bedevilling the process of pension distribution in Kano state.
Mr Kibiya who described Jigawa pension scheme as the best in the country said, the team will present the finding to governor Ganduje for his approval.
According to him, the team will look at the possibility of amending pension law and submit it to state house of assembly as according to him most of the pension problems is related to the law.
While delivering his remarks, the executive secretary Jigawa state and local government contributory pension board Alhaji Hashim Ahmad Fagam said, Jigawa is ready to support any state with documents that will help in solving their pension problems.
According to him, Jigawa state and local government contributory pension board was established even before the establishment of Pencom as many copy from Jigawa state.
He said, the board will soon disburse over N1.2 billion to the beneficiaries in the next one or two weeks across the 27 local governments in the state.
