Kano state Pilgrims Welfare Board has said that arrangements have been concluded to commence refunding Hajj fares to over 700 pilgrims that had missed this year’s Hajj exercise.
The Executive Secretary of the board, Muhammad Abba Dambatta made this known while briefing journalists at the board on Monday.
Recall that over 700 pilgrims in the state were part of thousands that missed the 2022 crisis -ridden Hajj exercise.
However, Dambatta said the board is ready to start disbursement of the refund, as announcement for the collection arrangements would be made soon.
According to him, any pilgrim that wants to be refunded would receive his money promptly.
He also stated that anyone that wants to roll over the money to 2023 Hajj would be first considered in the registration of the next year’s operation.
“We will ensure that every affected pilgrims receive his or her money intact as we have made efficient arrangement to ensure successful refund of their money,” he said.
The Executive Secretary however stated that the problems that bidevilled 2022 Hajj had become an experience for the country to fix all the errors on the subsequent operations.
He also commended media for their efforts to assist the board discharge its duties successfully.
