Karu Muslim Ummah gets new leadership

By expanded 21 executive council member of its Central Working Committee (CWC), to manage the affairs of the association.

 Peoples Daily reports that the CWC, which was expanded from its previous 14 offices in the immediate past executive council to 21, was inaugurated at a formal handing over ceremony that took place at the Hayatul Islam International Academy (HIIA), in Karu, FCT.

Members of the new executive council are: Alh. Sa’eed M Omar( Chairman), Engr. Abubakar Mohammed (deputy chairman 1), Alh. Ibrahim Zuru (Deputy Chairman 2), Alh. Suleman Uthman (General Secretary), Salman Moh’d Umar ( Assistant General Secretary), Salisu Bello (Financial secretary), Ibrahim Adam (Assistant Financial Secretary), Moh’d Salisu Musa (Treasurer) and Muazu Ahmad (Assistant Treasurer).

Others are: Alh. Umar Lapai (Internal Auditor 1), Musa Hasan (Internal Auditor 2), Nuhu Muhamma (Internal Auditor 3) Aminu Sadauki (Legal adviser 1 ) , Ibrahim M. Abdulsalam (Legal Adviser 2), Hassaini A. Yahaya ( Legal Adviser 3), Ishaq S. Nguru (Legal Adviser 4), Abdullahi Shaba (Legal Adviser 5), Moh’d S Alhassan ( Organizing Secretary), Ja’far Muhammad (Assistant Organising Secretary), Alh. Umar S. Yelwa (PRO) and Mallam Usman Haruna (PRO 2).

In his acceptance speech, Chairman of the new executive council of the Association, Alhaji  Sa’eed Omar, who thanked the Council members for the achievements recorded during their time, noted that the new executives are stepping into the  huge shoes left behind.

He therefore called on the members of the new council to join hands with him and one another, so as to work with sincerity and honesty as a team, in order to ensure a smooth and continuous development of Karu Muslim Ummah.

Earlier, the outgoing chairman, Kabir Muhammad Yari, urged the new CWC to give special attention to devising innovative programmes of improving the standard of HIIA, in order to provide younger Muslims with adequate opportunities for good education and technical skills for self-reliance.

He disclosed that the election process of the new executives took a long time, in an all-inclusive process involving every Muslim community within Karu and its environs.

He said the election process was conducted by the 7-member Shura committee headed by Malam Abubakar Haruna Argungu.

Highpoints of the event was the handover of official documents of the Association and presentation of letters of appointment to all members of the new CWC.

Peoples Daily gathered that the Association was established in 1994, to promote Islam with a view to promoting its understanding and practice in Karu, the FCT and the country at large, amongst other cardinal objectives.
