Karu: Orphanage Home receives relief materials

Date:

A nongovernmental organisation, Streetkidz Charity, has donated clothing materials, packs of noodles, books, sweets, pencils, pens and cash, to Zion Orphanage in Karu area of Abuja, aimed at alleviating the sufferings of children in the orphanage.
Making the donation, a representative of the NGO, Mrs. Anne Enemaku, said that the organisation would also visit other orphanage homes across the country, to help reduce extreme hunger and poverty among children.
Mrs Enemaku explained that the organisation was founded by Ms Angela Springer, from Enfield, North London, with the aim of raising funds to help children across the globe, in serious need of assistance.
Her words: “We are here today to give our widows mind and to see how we can partner with this home to give children a better life and future.
“There is more joy in giving than receiving and majority of children in the country need assistance to survive the next day.
“The children have done nothing wrong to find themselves in the situation they are today, and I plead with people who have more than enough to help them.
“About 70 per cent population of children globally need assistance and majority of them die every year due to hunger and starvation.”
She further added that the NGO has come to support government’s efforts in achieving its developmental goals and to help eradicate poverty in Nigeria.
She equally observed that the support was a concerted effort between the public and the private sector, hence, the need for local and international NGOs to ensure that the needs of children across the country were met.
Receiving the items, the founder of the orphanage home, Princes Kaima Mozie, thanked the organisation for its kind gesture and promised to use the donated items accordingly.
Mozie appealed to government, churches and well-meaning Nigerians to always support orphanage homes in the country to allleviate the suffering of children.
