Katsina govt to recruit 2,158 teachers, 80 health workers

The Katsina State Government has approved the recruitment of 2,158 primary and secondary school teachers to bridge existing gap in the student-teacher ratio in public schools and enhance the delivery of qualitative education.

The government said 1,500 of the teachers would be deployed to primary schools and 658 to secondary schools.

A committee set up by the government to oversee the process has invited applications from suitably qualified candidates who are indigenes of the state.

Applicants are required to apply through the official recruitment portal, where they are expected to select their preferred schools and subject areas.

The committee stated that only candidates who meet the stipulated requirements will be shortlisted for a Computer-Based Test (CBT), warning that multiple applications will result in disqualification.

In a related development, the state government is to recruit 80 medical and health workers for the newly upgraded General Hospital in Dandume.

The recruitment follows the elevation of the Dandume Comprehensive Health Centre to a General Hospital.

According to the Katsina State Hospital Services Management Board, vacancies are available for medical officers, nurses, radiographers, laboratory scientists, pharmacists, and other technical and administrative staff.

Applicants are required to possess relevant academic qualifications and valid professional licences.

All candidates, except medical doctors, must be indigenes of the state and not above 50 years of age, and must be willing to work in Dandume.

Both recruitment exercises will close on April 10, 2026, with prospective applicants advised to submit their applications within the stipulated timeframe.

The recruitments are part of the state government’s broader efforts to strengthen key sectors and improve public service delivery.
