The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Kebbi state chapter, on Monday reached a resolution after an extraordinary meeting of the State Executive Council, held on Oct. 2, 2014 at the United Missionary Church of Africa, Birnin Kebbi, that they have finally passed vote of confidence on Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor over the $9.3million involving his aircraft.
In a statement issued to newsmen, which was jointly signed by the Secretary, Rev. Apollos Agamalafiya and Rev. Zaka Peter Ahuche. CAN Chairman, Kebbi state, said that this call came as a result of the $9.3 million involving the aircraft belonging to the National President of the CAN, adding that they observed with concern the disrespectful, humiliating, shameful, terrible and negative statements and comments being made by different people at different times and in different places; ‘’this is ridiculous and uncalled for. It appears a few people want to capitalize on the crisis hitting the country to cause fear and heat the polity. It is sad that though we are trying to practice “democracy” we should never forget that it includes fairness, justice, equity and the fear of God’’ he explained.
According to the statement, the National President of CAN made it clear that though his plane, which he leased out was arrested in South Africa, he had no hand in the said amount of money, adding that the company did not only agree that the plane was in their custody, they came out publicly to give the name of the person who hired the plane and the federal government owned up that the money belong to them.
The SEC, therefore, called on the federal government to speak out so that Nigerians would be calm and the name of Pastor Ayo be cleared.
