Kebbi state government plans to upgrade the defunct Northern Regional General Hospital in Jega.

The Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Mu’azu Dakingari, who stated this in a press statement made available to Peoples Daily yesterday in Birnin Kebbi, said the existing General Hospital in Jega, constructed by the defunct Northern Regional government, is at present over-stretched , with obsolete structure and equipment.

“This necessitated the incumbent administration of Sa’idu Dakingari to construct an additional General Hospital with eight bed capacity.

“The state government has awarded the contract worth millions of naira for the construction of a befitting modern General Hospital in Jega town, the commercial nerve centre of the state.
