The kidnapped National Treasurer of the Petroleum Tanker Drivers Union, Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad 633 yesterday regained his freedom after spending two days in the hand of his abductors.
Sources in the area said the PTD boss was released by his abductors at Kerawa Close, which is just a stone-throw from his residence located at Matazu road around 9 pm yesterday night.
It was not clear whether ransom was paid to his abductors before they released him.
Sources closed to his resident revealed that the PTD boss was hale and hearty.
Peoples Daily gathered that mammoth crowd trooped to his house in jubilation while other were seen making phone calls to tell friends the good news.
it culd be recalled that the National Treasurer of Petroleum Tanker Drivers (PTD) association, Alhaji Abdullahi Muhammad (a.k.a 633) has been kidnapped by unknown gunmen at his residence along Matazu Road, Sabon-Gari, Kaduna.
The incident occurred around 9:30pm, when he was about entering his residence on Friday night. An eye witness, who was with the victim before his kidnap, Malam Adamu Gombe, said the victim was kidnapped at gunpoint.
It was gathered that the victim was contesting the state chairmanship’s position of the association and a family member of the victim disclosed how he had escaped such attacks at his residence in the past.
It was further learnt that members of PTD Kaduna chapter had earlier refused to load petrol until their victim is released by his abductors.
