From Ahmad Ibrahim Lokoja

The Chief Judge of Kogi State, Justice Nasiru Ajanah has stressed the need for the youths in the country to cultivate reading culture, to ensure the steady growth and development of the nation.
Justice Ajanah gave the advice in Lokoja during the presentation/launching of a book titled: Fundamentals of Trials in High Courts/Area and Customary Courts, a Comparative Analysis.
He expressed worry that the advent of social media, particularly Facebook, Tweeter, Instagram among others has impacted negatively on reading among the youths, saying the ugly trend has to be reversed for the overall progress of the nation.
The chief judge, who was represented at the occasion by the Deputy Chief Registrar, special duty, Mr. Dele Aina, further emphasized the need for concerted efforts among Nigerians in contributing towards the enhancement of knowledge, noting that no country can developed without education.
He stressed that the relevant case laws cited in the book by the author and his analytical knowledge of the subject and exposition of the divergent procedures, which are seemingly largely the same, is a major contribution to the understanding of our adjectival laws.
He further commended the bold initiative of the publisher of the book, Hon. Tunde Augustine Olowo for immensely contributing to the enhancement of knowledge, stressing the author has no doubt left an indelible marks in the sands of time.
The author, Hon. Tunde Olowo had earlier in a remark, disclosed that he was inspired to publish the book, based on the knowledge he acquired in the course of serving as area court judge, spanning over several years.
He averred that we cannot succeed as a nation without reading, and urged the youths to shun acts capable of retarding the growth and development of the nation, even as he stressed the need for them to be involved in nation building.
