A prominent Peoples Democratic Party, (PDP) chieftain in Kogi State, Abdulrafiu Yakubu has dumped the party for the ruling All Progressive Congress, (APC) alongside his supporters.
Announcing his defection in Lokoja yesterday Yakubu said the PDP has nothing to offer in Kogi State.
“Sometimes you think you made the right decision, but after an appraisal of how far you have gone, it is better to make the decision right.
“My decision to return to my party, the All Progressive Congress, was based on the above assertion and after critical and wide consultations with my people.
“I have always been a progressive. We have done all what we can, seeking for the progress of our people. What we are pursuing is 100 percent in the ruling All Progressive Congress.
“The call for real political bargain is alliance with progressive minds and I have been called because I am of the progressive to come back and realign myself with the All Progressive Congress.
“That is why we have come back with our teeming supporters that are in their thousands to the APC. Today marks a beginning of good things in conformity with the vision and mission of the Executive Governor of Kogi State Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo and the leadership down the line. It is just to plug in to the value chain of the party by playing our part because we are progressive.
“See me as partner in progress. See my return to the party as a loss to the opposition and a gain to the All Progressive Congress for in each loss there is a gain, as in every gain there is a loss and each ending comes a new beginning.
“This is a new beginning and I am excited to return to where I belong,” he said.
