A member of The Master’s Place International Church, Precious Adugbo, has rejected reports circulating online about a sermon delivered by Pastor Korede Komaiya.
Adugbo said the reports had taken portions of the sermon out of context and presented them as the entire message.
He was reacting to reports concerning Komaiya’s sermon titled “Supernatural Speed”.
According to Adugbo, he attended the service and listened to the message in full.
He urged members of the public to listen to the complete sermon before reaching conclusions based on excerpts circulating online.
The controversy followed comments attributed to Komaiya during a testimony in which he spoke about financial transformation.
Among the statements circulated online was: “If you do what I teach, you will be a millionaire in 90 days, if not shorter.”
Another excerpt quoted him as saying, “If you do what I teach, you will cross billions in six months.”
However, Adugbo maintained that the excerpts should be understood within the broader context of the sermon.
He urged Nigerians to avoid relying solely on social media reports or isolated portions of religious teachings.
“People must take the time to listen to Pastor Komaiya’s teachings for themselves,” Adugbo said.
“Anyone who does will discover that his messages are impactful, transformational, and entirely free from the ambiguity being forced upon them.”
Adugbo also appealed to the public to verify claims before sharing or publishing reports about religious leaders.
He said, “These reports are not clarifications. They are distortions. They are false.”
He further called for prayers and support for religious leaders, while urging the media and members of the public to avoid presenting statements without their full context.
Adugbo said Komaiya’s teachings should be assessed based on the complete message rather than isolated statements circulated online.
