The butchers of Yangoji community in Kwali Area Council of the FCT have called on the Chairman of the Area Council, Hon. Danladi Chiya to as a matter of urgency fence the Yangoji abattoir, to help mitigate widening security threats there.
The Traditional Head of butchers (Sarkin Pawa) in Yangoji community, Mallam Bala Mohammed, who spoke to Peoples Daily correspondent on behalf of butchers in Yangoji, charged the Chairman to also erect shops at the abattoir.
Mohammed further urged the Chairman to drill boreholes at the abattoir, in order to put an end to shortage of water there.
He equally appealed to the Chairman to deem it fit to renovate the Mosque in Yangoji community, as well as to provide a generator set for there.
Speaking in the same vein, a butcher in the area, Mr. Yusuf Shago called on the Chairman to carry the Hausa-Fulani along in the affairs of things in the area.
He also opined that the Hausa-Fulani were yet to feel the impact of the present administration of the Area Council, and urged the council leadership to always attend to the of the plights of the poor.
Mr. Shago, however noted with nostalgia that politicians are in the habit of using the Hausa-Fulani during the electioneering campaign and dumping them when they being successful.
On his part, the madaki of butchers in Yangoji, Mr. Saidu Jibrin, urged the Chairman to provide permanent sites for the butchers at the grassroots in Kwali Area to enable them to pay the revenue for the Council.
Jibrin said the butchers in Kwali and its environs would continue to support the administration of the Council in all ramifications.
