Labour Party sole presidential candidate submits form for 2023

The sole aspirant for the Nigerian President for Labour Party (LP) Hon. Samson Uchenna Charles has submitted his form for the exalted position to the party’s top hierarchy.

Samson accompanied by large supporters submitted the form in Abuja Wednesday with a promise to reposition the country on a better part and retool the economy.

Represented by the Deputy National Leader of the party, Aminu Bello Yar’adua who submitted the form to the National Chairman, Hon. Samson noted that Nigeria needs great transformation that will make things work better.

Responding after receiving the form, National Chairman of Labour Party, Bar. Julius Abure who promised to give all candidates a level playing ground stated that Labour Party was committed in making Nigeria a better place for every citizen.

Abure said that all contestants would be accorded equal opportunity during the contest for flag bearer of the party and treated fairly.

He unveiled the party’s plans to lead Nigeria to liberation after the bad governance they experienced under Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and present All Progressive Congress (APC) leadership.

He said the country is bleeding seriously with a lot of things going wrong saying that Labour Party was capable of changing things for good with the support of Nigeria peoples.

Abure lamented the insecurity situation of the country noting that lives and property have been highly unprotected with many Nigerians living in fear.

He said the roads were no longer safe making travel by road an uphill task maintaining that most people can no longer travel to their abode for peaceful habitation owing to threat of insecurity.

He informed that with the age long dispute with Nigeria Labour Congress (NLC) and Trade Union Congress (TUC) being resolved amicable that Labour Party was the party to beat in 2023 contest.

A political Analyst and Public Policy Commentator, Dr. Charles Edet  Esq said the candidature of Hon. Samson Uchenna Charles was a good one as the party has nominated him as a sole candidate.

Hiis words, “For Labour Party to nominate a candidate from South East shows that they are in line with equity, fairplay and justice which are most needed in the country today.

“I hereby congratulate him for this great feat and I urge him to reciprocate this gesture by running an open government that will satisfy us all when he emerges victorious come 2023” he said.
