LAPO offers N64m scholarship to 1,432 students

Lift Above Poverty Organisation (LAPO), Microfinance Bank limited has offered scholarship scheme to 1,432 indigent students The beneficiaries drawn from fifteen states across the South-south

and South-east region have been provided with grants and scholarships.

An estimated N64,724,900 million by LAPO as educational support for seconday and tertiary institutions according to Associate Director, LAPO Microfinance Bank, Moses Ehigiamusoe.

Speaking during the 2014 schalarship Ballot programme for prospective applicants of clients of the bank yesterday in Benin City, Ehigiamusoe, said the initiative commenced in 2008,

He noted that the process for selection has been “modified to ensure transparency by using a transparent ballot system along with introduction of aptitude test.

He also said a total of 930 slots nationwide screening conducted in the fifteen regions on June 13th for each region for indigent students in Edo state.
