Leadership crisis rocks ASDEV’18 Club

One of the elite clubs in Asaba, Oshimili South Local Government Area of Delta State, the ASDEV’18 Club, is currently enmished in crisis over leadership positions and election, which has culminated in the suspension of some members of the club.
To this end, a faction of the club has filed a case at a Federal High Court,Port Harcourt, Rivers State which has fixed hearing of the matter for September 8,2020, while the Port Harcourt and Lagos branches have resolved to boycott the proposed national conference and election of officers.
Sources said that the crux of the muscle flexing by contending parties was the enlistment of additional two persons as members of the Board of Trustees and appointment of Chairman and Secretary of ASDEV’18 club’s constitution and clearing of unqualified members to contest for positions in the election.
They also resolved to shun all activities of the BOT and NEC of ASDEV’18 in protest over non compliance with constitutional provisions , until the court case is determined.
The plaintiffs, in the case with suit No, FHC/ PH / CS/ 126/ 2020, filed on their behalf by P.I Osuji and others of C N Ibekwe ( Nnwodazum Chambers,,) Ikwere Road Port Harcourt, are seeking an order of interim injunction to restrain the defendants from enlisting the two nominees as Board of Trustee members and also to stop the conduct of the proposed election, whereby some members already suspended, will not participate until the determination of the case.
