From Umar Dankano, Yola
The Adamawa State Independent Electoral Commission, ADSIEC, has announced that PDP has won all 21 local government council chairmanship in the Saturday 13th July, 2024 local government polls.
Declaring the results of the election at the Commission’s head quarters in Yola, Sunday, Chairman of the Commission, Mr. Mohammad Umar Jabu said PDP won 225 counsellorship seats out of 226 while NNPP won 1 counsellorship seats in Demsa ward in Demsa local government council.
Jabu expressed satisfaction with the entire exercise, but lamented hitches ranging from delay arrival of election materials.
Reacting to the declaration in an interview, State Chairman of Labour Party,LP. Mr. Nicolas Christopher contested the results, insisting that the election was allegedly compromised by the referee (ADSIEC).
Christopher decried that despite late arrival of election materials at various polling stations, some candidates fielded by Labour Party got the highest votes but were allegedly upturned by the officials.
