The League Management Company (LMC) has given Giwa FC a 24 hours grace to honour their rescheduled game against Nasarawa United or risked being walked over.
“Giwa FC has been granted a 24-hour reprieve to honour its match against Nasarawa United in Abuja. Match now holds Thursday, 30th October, 2014.” Read a statement from the LMC.
The LMC will compensate Nasarawa for the additional day they are to spend in Abuja, the venue for the game against Giwa.
Giwa were banished to Abuja after Crowd trouble marred their last home game with Sharks, leading to its abandonment but they refuse to honour their first game at their new ground against Nassarawa in protest of the banishment.
The Jos base team, owned by factional president of the NFF Chris Giwa, are yet to react to the decision about whether they are going to honour the clash or not.
With just two games left in the season, Giwa are presently placed 11th on 51 points and securely safe from relegation, while their opponents Nasarawa are placed fourth on 56 points as they chase a continental ticket.
