The Plateau State chapter of Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association of Nigeria ( MACBAN), has decried over the recent attacks and cattle rustling in some communities of Barikin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State.
The group made its complaint in a letter addressed to the Plateau State Commissioner of Police, Austin Agbonlahor, and made available to our reporter yesterday.
According to the letter signed by its state chairman, Malam Nura Abdullahi, on the August, 13 , 2019, four cattle were killed by gunmen around Nding village of Barikin Ladi LGA.
The chairman added that on August 18, about 17 cows were killed by criminal armed group around Nding village of Barikin Ladi.
In another attack according to the letter, about 187 cows were rustled by armed bandits, in Gora village of Jos East LGA of the state.
The group, however, called on the state Commissioner of Police, “ to use intelligence and bring an end to the attacks and killing of cows in the state.
“We are soliciting and urging the security agencies to as a matter of urgency step into action and recover the rustled cows.
“As peace and loving citizens, we will continue to support all the security apparatus to ensuring peace on the Plateau, “ the group added.
