The Chairman of the Abuja Municipal Area Council (AMAC), Hon. Christopher Zakka Maikalangu, has reaffirmed his administration’s dedication to youth empowerment, describing leadership development as the cornerstone of community prosperity.
Speaking over the weekend during the inauguration of the Northern Visionary for Leadership Development Foundation at the Sa’Peyi Palace in Garki, Maikalangu emphasized that the council is actively seeking partnerships that drive social transformation.
Represented by the Special Adviser on ICT and Social Welfare, Hon. Ombugadu Ibrahim, the Chairman lauded the foundation for its proactive approach to addressing the leadership gap among young people.
“We are securing a more stable and prosperous future by investing in our youth today.
“AMAC remains a willing partner to any organization that prioritizes sustainable growth and the sharpening of leadership potential at the grassroots level”, he stated.
The event received a significant royal blessing from the Sa’Peyi of Garki, HRH Dr. Usman Ngakupi.
In his address to the attendees, the Royal Father underscored the necessity of a “tripartite synergy” between the government, traditional rulers, and civil society organizations.
Dr. Ngakupi maintained that the challenges facing the next generation can only be solved through intentional collaboration and mentorship.
The inauguration was attended by a broad spectrum of stakeholders, including community leaders and youth advocates, marking what many described as a pivotal step toward inclusive development in the FCT.
