Senate President, David Mark has won nomination for the fifth term to represent Benue South Senatorial district.

This followed the sudden stepping down of his opponent Hon. Mike Okibe Onoja at the venue of the senatorial primaries for the district which was held at Otukpo yesterday.

Hon. Onoja addressed delegates soon before the commencement of votes adducing reason for his action which he said was premised on the cordial relationship he has enjoyed with Mark over the years, adding that both of them share the same ideology of development of Idoma land.

He further stated clearly that he was not induced in any way to step down for the Senate President, maintaining that he holds him in very high esteem as the number three citizen of the nation.

In his speech, Mark acknowledged the love and unity exhibited by Onoja, adding that he showed brotherliness.

The senate president averred that PDP will win in a free and fair election in 2015.

Meanwhile, Governor Gabriel Suswam emerged the party’s flag bearer for Benue North-East district which was held in Katsina-Ala. While Hon. Mike Mku won for the Benue North-West zone.
