Firm unveils two travel platforms in Abuja

Date:

GIG Mobility (GIGM) will on November 4 launch two technology-driven travel platforms, hireX and PASS, in Abuja to expand its services beyond intercity bus transportation.

The platforms, hireX by GIGM and PASS by GIGM, are designed to provide vehicle hire, charter services, travel bookings and tour packages through integrated digital platforms.

The company announced the planned launch on Sunday in Abuja, describing the initiative as part of efforts to make transportation and travel services safer, simpler and more connected.

GIGM said hireX would provide chauffeur-driven vehicles for hourly and daily bookings, with upfront pricing and professionally vetted drivers.

The service is expected to cater for executive movements, airport transfers, interstate journeys, group travel and event transportation.

Speaking on the initiative, the Chief Executive Officer of GIG Mobility, Dr Enahoro Okhae, said the Abuja fleet would comprise company-owned vehicles and cars operated by verified partners.

He said the choice of Abuja reflected the city’s demand for reliable transportation services, particularly among professionals and organisations operating on tight schedules.

“Abuja runs on schedules: meetings, ministries, embassies, flights. The people who keep this city moving deserve transport that keeps up with them,” Okhae said.

He added, “For nearly three decades, Nigerians have trusted GIGM with their intercity journeys. On November 4, we bring that same trust to every part of the trip in the capital.”

The second platform, PASS by GIGM, will integrate intercity bus tickets, flight bookings, hotel reservations, airport pick-ups and curated local and international tours into one application.

According to the company, the platform is intended to eliminate the need for travellers to rely on multiple service providers when planning their journeys.

The Chief Operating Officer of GIG Mobility, Jude Odum, said the company had begun engaging organisations in Abuja ahead of the launch.

He said the initiative would provide corporates, embassies and non-governmental organisations with a single partner for executive transportation, staff movements and travel management.

“We’re already working with organisations in Abuja ahead of launch. Corporates, embassies and NGOs that want one partner for executive transport, staff movement and travel management should talk to us now,” Odum said.

He added that early partners would help the company shape its services to meet the transportation needs of the capital.

GIGM said customers would be able to book hireX through hirex.gigmobility.co and the GIGM application from November 4, while PASS would be accessible through the GIGM application and the company’s website, www.gigm.com.

The company operates more than 40 terminals across Nigeria and Ghana and describes itself as West Africa’s largest intercity road transport company.
