Masari proposes to spend N249.4bn in 2020 fiscal year

Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina has presented a proposed budget of N249,463,829,250.00 billion to the Katsina State House of Assembly for the 2020 financial year.
Presenting the budget before the state House of Assembly, Masari said the 2020 budget was christened ‘the budget of reflection and progress’.
According to him, the budget has the total sum of N173,883,963,2600.00 billion as capital expenditure while the sum of N75,579,865,990.00 billion was proposed as recurrent expenditure.
He disclosed that the proposed amount for the capital expenditure represent 69.70% of the total budget while the amount proposed for the recurrent expenditure represent 30.30% of the total provision of the budget.
Masari added that the sum of N24.5billion was set aside for the education sector, 13.1bilion for water resources,N30.1billion for environment.
He noted that the government has invested heavily in the maintenance of security in the state where he said supports were given to various security arms working in the state.
In a remark, the speaker of the assembly, Alhaji Tasi’u Musa Maigari urged revenue generating agencies and department to brace up in innovating revenue generation strategy in the state.
He advised government ministries, agencies and departments in the state to adhere strictly to their defence schedule before the house.
