May 29: Gov. Bello’s inauguration will be low keyed, says C’ttee chair

All arrangements have been concluded for 29th May, 2019 inauguration of the Niger State Governor, Alhaji Abubakar Sani Bello for his second term in office.
However, the inauguration ceremony will be low keyed due to the spate of security challenges across some parts of the country and to save cost.
The Chairman of Inaugural Committee and Chief of Staff,. Hon. Mikail Al- Amin Bmitosahi said at a press conference yesterday in Minna that the committee is to review and redesign the governance structure in the state to reflect consolidated portfolio system that eliminates duplication and ineffective use of scarce state resources.
Bmitosahi expressed appreciation to the current administration, to all the stakeholders that participated and contributed to the overwhelming success recorded by the All Progressive Congress, APC at the last general elections.
He stated that its leveraging on the achievements already recorded in the last four years in the areas of education, water supply, provision of critical infrastructural facilities, revolution in the agricultural sector, prompt payment of salaries-emoluments and pensions, construction and rehabilitation of roads, maintaining cordial relationship with the organized labor including the NUJ among others.
The committee was also required to propose and recommend any further project /activity, review the states’ existing tax base with a view to expanding its Internally Generated Revenue to include the informal sector, as well as propose legacy projects achievable within the next four years stating feasible funding options among others.
The committee chairman added that it will also review and redesign the governance structure to reflect consolidated portfolio system that eliminates duplication and ineffective use of scarce state resources.
According to him, “The nature and quality of the 65-member Projects, Policies and programmes Appraisal committee is filled with people of impeccable characters and experience which guarantees that the outcome of their findings and recommendations shall provide a clear direction to move the state and its people to the next level of developmental”.
