Mazi goes to market II: N10 million empowerment for market women in Imo state

Date:

Dr. Chima Matthew Amadi, respected philanthropist and leader of The Mazi Organization (TMO), has once again taken impactful action at the grassroots level. In the second edition of Mazi Goes to Market, he visited two major markets in Imo State: Nkwo Orji in Owerri North LGA and Nkwo Emeke in Owerri North LGA. At each location, he disbursed N5 million, bringing hope and real economic support to local traders.

The visit was marked by emotional encounters and powerful gestures. One of the day’s highlights was Mazi’s meeting with Chidinma Anyanwu, a 27-year-old trader who built her business from scratch. Moved by her story and drive, Mazi awarded her a grant of N1 million, urging her to continue pushing forward as an example of determination.

Pascaline, just 18 years old and a school dropout, shared her dream of returning to school. Touched by her story, Mazi gifted her N200,000 and pledged to sponsor her education fully. The moment left her in tears, her hope visibly restored.

Chizikere, an 11-year-old boy who has struggled to stay in school due to financial constraints, received N100,000 from Mazi. The gift was intended to support his education and motivate him to take his studies seriously.

In a moment that caught everyone by surprise, Mazi encountered a pregnant woman shopping for food. Without hesitation, he gave her N600,000, a gift that left her speechless and deeply grateful.

To ensure the safety of all beneficiaries, Mazi also arranged security escorts for each of them, making sure they returned home safely. This extra step was widely praised and seen as a thoughtful expression of genuine care.

Mazi’s outreach has continued to change lives across Imo State. His actions are more than generous; they reflect a deep, consistent commitment to community development and human dignity.

He was accompanied by key stakeholders and members of The Mazi Organization, including Okenze Blyden Amajirionwu, Hon. George Onwukwe, Apiti, Hon. Michael Crown, Obinna Onwuegbucha, and Cajetan Duke. Together, they stood witness to the impact of the initiative and the joy it brought to the people.
