Minister calls for action on climate change, biodiversity

The Minister of Environment Malam Balarabe Lawal has called for action on climate change and to protect biodiversity.
He said “ it is our collective responsibility to take a bold and decisive action to combat Climate and ensure sustainable development for all”.
The minister made the statement recently at the UNFF19 Conference at the UN HQ alongside His Excellency Governor Babagana U Zulum of Borno state and His Excellency Governor Dauda Dare Lawal of Zamfara state, as representatives of Nigeria.
He said “ Together, we are committed to addressing environmental challenges and promoting sustainable development”.
Lawal, while delivering his speech highlighted the importance of global collaboration in safeguarding our planet’s future.
He said “We stand at a critical juncture in human history, where the decisions we make will profoundly impact the health of our planet and the well-being of future generations. As stewards of the environment. “
He also emphasized the need of work together, across borders and boundaries, to build a greener, more resilient world for ourselves and for generations to come. “ The time for action is now.Together, let’s make a difference”.
