A Northern group under the auspices of the Concerned Northern Forum (CNF) has called on President Ahmed Bola Tinubu, to reconsider adding Dr Maryam Shetyt back to his Ministerial list.
Making this position known in a press statement made available to the media in Kaduna, and signed by Mohammed Danlami Chairman, Board of Trustees, the group appealed to President Bola Tinubu to consider Shetty’s dedication and faithfulness to the party.
The Concerned Northern Forum (CNF) stated that they were shocked by the decision of the President to withdraw the nomination of Maryam Shetty.
The group however, lamented that her replacement has caused so much pain in the North, especially the North West.
According to the group, “We are appealing to President Bola Tinubu to reconsider the nomination of Maryam Shetty as a member of the Renewed Hope Executive Council.
“The appointment of Maryam Shetty is well celebrated by millions of Nigerian youths, especially those from Northern Nigeria. Her education, experience, and commitment to the party made so many people excited when she was announced by the Senate on Wednesday, August 2, 2023. No Ministerial Nominee was celebrated like Maryam.
“However, sadly, today we were heartbroken by the announcement of the withdrawal of one of our own, our great-sister. We hold her in high esteem.
“Mr. President, we know this decision was based on reasons best known to you, but this replacement has brought so much pain to us that we are appealing to you to please have a rethink.
“While we applaud your nomination of so many capable youths in your cabinet, we have been short-changed by this very important replacement”, the statement read.
