Miyetti Allah hails Jonathan over new IGP’s appointment

A Fulani Socio-cultural group, Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore has commended President Goodluck Jonathan for appointing Suleiman Abba as the new acting Inspector General of Police (IGP).

National President of the association, Alhaji Bello Abdullahi Bodejo, who gave the commendation in a congratulatory message at the weekend, said by choosing Abba from among the best to succeed the immediate past IGP, has shown that the President wants the best for the country.

“I believe Jonathan is concerned about the security of this country, that is why he brought an experienced gallant officer like Abba to come and help tackle security challenges facing us;  Abubakar  has done his best for the nation, so Abba should continue from where he stopped”, Bodejo said.

He congratulated the new IGP, who until his appointment was the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) in charge of zone 7 Abuja, comprising of FCT, Kaduna and Niger commands.

He however advised the new IGP to use his experience to effectively tackle the current insecurity in the society, while calling on officers and men of the Nigeria Police to give their new boss maximum support to succeed in his duty.

Abba is the 17th indigenous IGP in Nigeria, after replacing former IGP Mohammed Abubakar, whose tenure expired last Friday.
