Aggrieved mob in Gombe State were said to have attacked the residence of gubernatorial flag bearer of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

Briefing newsmen yesterday in Gombe, flag bearer of the APC in the state, Alhaji Inuwa Yahaya said the incident occurred at 6: pm when he was in a meeting with some members of the party in his residence.

He alleged that the hoodlums might have been sponsored by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in order to intimidate and harass him in his residence, noting that during the incident, five of his vehicles were destroyed by the mob.

The gubernatorial candidate however said his security detail was manhandled, with the mob allegedly employing dangerous weapons to attack him at the gate, adding that the security detail has since been admitted at an undisclosed hospital in the metropolis.

He decried the inability of government which he said has allowed mobs to perpetrate such evil against the opposition, saying that the party has decided to write a petition to the Commissioner of Police for further action, but noted that if the police fail to comply, the party has no option than to find another alternative to the problem.

He said he would continue to strive no matter the threat the party is facing and assured Gombe residents of his commitment if elected in the 2015 general elections.
