Mohbad: PSM urge Police and others to investigate Sam Larry ,Naira Marley

The Progressive Students Movement has called on the Nigerian police and relevant security agencies to arrest music promoter Samson Balogun, also known as Sam Larry, and singer Azeez Fashola, aka Naira Marley, along with others for questioning following the demise of the late singer Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad.

The President of the movement, Comrade Okereafor Bestman, made the call in a statement made available to the press in Abuja on Friday.

According to him, the PSM Nigeria chapter has been drawn to the unfortunate demise of Nigeria’s fast-rising music sensation Aloba Promise Oladimeji on September 12, 2023, under very controversial and suspicious circumstances.

The statement reads: “Information and a series of videos and pictorial evidence at our disposal and on social media reveal that the late musician had been undergoing a series of oppression, molestation, intimidation, victimization, and assault from one Sam Larry and his gang because of his fallout with his former music label boss, Azeez Fashola (Naira Marley).

Further information at our disposal reveals that the late MOHBAD was attacked on June 25, 2023, while having a music video shoot alongside his colleague Zlatan. This necessitated a petition filed and submitted on June 27, 2023, against the daredevil Sam Larry and his notorious gang to the office of the Assistant Inspector General of Police, Force CID Annex Alagbon, which was acknowledged with an official stamp and signature.

“As intellectuals, we wish to know what happened to the petition. Was anyone invited or arrested for questioning? What moral right does Sam Larry and his boys have to disrupt a music video shoot? In light of this, we are giving the Nigerian Police a 72-hour ultimatum to explain to Nigerians what happened to the petition filed by late MOHBAD or face a peaceful protest from Nigerian students and youths at the Force HQ in Abuja.

“Because we are very sure that if the petition had been attended to at that time, probably the late promising Nigerian youth would have been saved from untimely death.

“We are calling on the ever-intelligent, humane, and compassionate IGP to look into this injustice with a view to getting justice for the late promising star as a father.”

Meanwhile, the Lagos Annex, Force Criminal Investigation Department of the Nigeria Police Force, Zone 2, Alagbon, has revealed that it invited music promoter Samson Balogun, aka Sam Larry, and others following the receipt of the June 27 petition by the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba aka Mohbad, over alleged assault, among other issues.
