Monarch charges Kaduna Electric to sustain stable power supply in Kebbi

The Emir of Gwandu and Chairman Kebbi State Council of Chiefs, Alhaji Muhammad Iliyasu Bashar has applauded the near excellent power supply situation in Kebbi State and charged the management of Kaduna Electric to sustain the momentum.
The royal father gave the charge yesterday in Birnin Kebbi when he received the Managing Director/CEO of the DISCO, Engineer Garba Haruna in his Abdullahi Fodio Palace.
Alhaji Muhammad Iliyasu Bashar called on the management of the electricity distribution company to ensure that its customers are fairly and humanly treated by the workers and all cases of unfair treatment are investigated and addressed quickly.
The emir also directed district heads and title holders in the emirate to educate their wards and subjects on the importance of timely settlement of their bills, warning that “the current achievement could only be sustained if all stakeholders are alive to their responsibilities”.
Earlier, the Managing Director/CEO of Kaduna Electric, Engr Garba Haruna told the emir that he was at the palace as part of his four day working visit to Kebbi and Sokoto States which shall enable him meet critical stakeholders in those states.
Engr. Garba further disclosed that the company has recently adopted two significant initiatives aimed at forming partnership with willing indigenous entrepreneurs to provide reliable and affordable electricity to the people.
“We embarked on this duty tour to Kebbi and Sokoto States to enable us meet critical stakeholders and entrepreneurs who may be willing to buy into our new franchising initiatives and also create awareness on the forthcoming meters assets provider scheme”, he said.
He disclosed that the frequent disputes and contention over estimated billing shall soon be a thing of the past as Company has concluded all necessary arrangement to deploy meters from next month through the approved Meter Asset Providers and enjoined the people to take advantage of this opportunity.
