The wife of Kaduna state Governor, Hajia Fatima Ramalan Yero, has called on pupils of various schools to incorporate the habit of healthy living in their lifestyles in order to ensure great reduction in communicable diseases.

She made the call during the official hand over of modern toilet facilities built for the prevention of avoidable deaths from infectious diseases (PADID) in Zaria, Kaduna State.

Yero said 75 per cent of diseases are preventable if people learn to live a healthy life or follow the basic health care rules.

“Disease like Diarrhea, Cholera and Malaria can be prevented by simple washing of hands after visiting conveniences.

“Today you will find people, especially our young pupils walking into the toilet and coming out to use the same hand to eat and since the adage goes that prevention is better than cure, we have decided to build these conveniences to encourage our pupils to live a healthy life.
