The National Ameer (President) of Muslim Forum for Orphans, Empowerment (M.F.O.E), Mallam Bashir Nuhu Gamagira, has urged highly placed Nigerians to deem it necessary to cater for the orphans as well as the widows in our society.
Gamagira who stated this in an interview with newsmen during the annual general meeting of the forum which took place at the Mini Campus of the University of Abuja, Gwagwalada on Sunday.
While presenting his speech, the National Ameer appealed to the general public, government at all levels and humanitarian organizations to always endeavor to put smiles on the faces of the orphans and the widows.
Speaking earlier, the Chairman of the occasion, Dr. Murtala Mohammed Lawal, who is also the Imam of the University of Abuja, urged the people to be of help to the less privileged ones in the society at all times.
Imam Lawal commended the National leader of the Forum for Impacting positively on the lives of the orphans and the widows in our community, and urged them to continue with their good work.
On his part, the Sarkin of Pai Community in Kwali Area Council, Alhaji Abubakar Sani, urged the Management of the forum to engage the orphans/widows in the skills acquisition programs that will empower them financially.
The two speakers who spoke at the occasion, the lecturer with the FCT College of Education zuba, mallam Ahmad Ibrahim Kakaki and an Islamic Scholar based in Gwagwalada, Mallam Umaru Faruk, tasked Nigerians, especially the rich people to deem it necessary to take the orphans and the widows along in terms of their needs.
Not left out, the National Secretary of the forum, Dr Suleiman Mohammed Basheer, said the forum was formed to empower the less privileged ones in the society, as the Coordinator of Zakat and Sadaqat, Hajiya Risqiyah Abubakar, advised the beneficiaries who were given the sum of N40,000 by the forum to make use of the money judiciously.
