National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N-HYPPADEC) has restated its commitment to training about six thousand youth from the six N-HYPPADEC member states on various skills to be self-reliance.
This was contained in a Statement by HYPADEC Managing Director Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa issued in Minna.
He said already five thousand youths have been trained for a period of three to six months depending on the skills in collaboration with National Directorate of Employment (NDE) and other sister agencies.
Yelwa noted that scheme was held at various skill aquisation and vocational training centers across the country on the chosen trades while stipend were paid to the beneficiaries for feeding and transportation throughout the training period.
The MD stated that the commission has reached an advance stage in making provision for starter packs for the pioneer graduats of the program.
He advised beneficiaries of the pilot programmes to liaise with the N-HYPPADEC state coordinator in their respective states to register with the cooperate affairs commission to enable them not only get the starter packs but access grant and other opportunities from relevant organization.
