Governor Aminu Bello Masari of Katsina State has condoled the leadership of the Nigerian military over the death of the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. General Ibrahim Attahiru and ten other military officers.
This is contained in a statement issued by the governor’s media aide, Alhaji Abdu Labaran Malumfashi.
In a letter which he personally signed and addressed to the Chief of Defence Staff, Defence Headquarters, Governor Masari noted that “the crash which ended the lives of gallant Generals and other senior military officers who contributed greatly in addressing insecurity across the nation is indeed a national tragedy”.
While praying to Allah for the repose of the souls of the deceased, he also urged their immediate family, the military institution and the nation in general to take solace in the fact that the deceased had given a good account of themselves and made the ultimate sacrifice in the service of the nation.
