NAF trains female combatants, partners Edo Varsity in Engineering

The Nigerian Air Force says it has trained more female combat pilots in its ongoing efforts towards defending territorial integrity of Nigeria.
Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sadique Abubakar, dropped the hint while delivering Edo University 4th Founder’s Day lecture title: “The Nigerian Air Force, making giant strides in keeping Nigeria safe”.
Speaking during the lecture which was held virtually, Abubakar, assured that the NAF is now properly structured to respond to security challenges, especially with the acquisition of additional military hardware.
The Chief of Air Staff, promised to partner the University in the field of Engineering and maintenance of its (hardware) equipment.
He noted that violent crimes including terrorism have been reduced as result of effective communication between the military and Communities which were hitherto listed as hot spots for insurgency.
The Executive Secretary, Tertiary Education Trust Fund (TETFUND), Prof. Suleiman Bogoro, who chaired the event, commended the University for setting the pace for a robust academic discuss.
The visitor of Edo University and Governor of the State, Mr. Godwin Obaseki, the Chancellor of Edo University, Dr. Aderemi Makanjuola with the Vice Chancellor of the Institution, Prof. Emmanuel Aluyor, and Pro-Chancellor of the institution as well as Emeritus Prof. Thomas Audu, delivered goodwill messages at the Ceremony.
